For two women in the United Kingdom, aged 22 and 44 mysterious vision problems that happened only at night or early in the morning looking at a smartphone in the dark.
The women complained of recurring episodes of temporary vision loss for up to 15 minutes.
They were subjected to variety of medical exams, MRI scans and heart tests. Yet doctors couldn't find anything wrong with them to explain the problem.
In both cases, doctors discovered that these vision problems happened only after the women had viewed their smartphone for several minutes, while lying on their side in bed.
Thus, one eye adapts to the light from the phone while the other adjusts to the dark.
When the cell phone is switched off, the brain gets confused and wonders why one eye is adjusted for “daytime” while the other is adjusted for night.
Smartphones is the very tool to temporarily blindness and eventually permanent eye damage.
What's worst is that the damage goes beyond our eyes as it confirmed that blue light has a connection to cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity.
